Many kratom users get an unpleasant feeling at the back of their throats as if that area has gone completely dry. A few others report having swollen, red eyes as if they are drunk. Many others report dry and itchy skin. Why does this happen?

According to experts, these are common side effects of taking kratom regularly for a long time. Before you rush to buy kratom in Delaware, read this.

Why does this happen?

Kratom is a diuretic. This means it accelerates the removal of fluids from your body, leaving your body dehydrated.

So, the symptoms mentioned in the beginning are actually symptoms of kratom dehydration.

Being a diuretic, experts advise kratom users to take plenty of water throughout the day. The symptoms happen to people who have been taking this herb for a prolonged period daily without any break. It is better to go kratom-free in between whether you take kratom for energy or sleep.

Many experts are of the view that you must not take kratom 7 days a week. Take it either 4 or 5 days a week and then go kratom-free for the rest 2 days. Some users take it on alternate days. That is also good.

Some may take the whole week, then go kratom-free for 3-4 days at a stretch and then start talking again. Do whatever suits you, but do not take it 365×7, say experts.

How to tackle kratom dehydration?

Kratom dehydration is no matter of worry as long as it is mild or moderate. In severe cases, you must consult a doctor. However, people who take kratom powder or capsules carefully hardly suffer from severe symptoms. They may get mild dehydration, which is easily treated by drinking plenty of water.

First signs of kratom dehydration

  • You feel constantly thirsty.
  • You get dark yellow urine.
  • You get a dry mouth.

Immediately increase your water intake, say experts. You might want to go kratom-free the next day. If you still want to have your kratom, reduce the dose. Make a conscious effort to drink lots of fluids throughout the day.

Reduce your cups of caffeine when you are on kratom. Caffeine is a diuretic too. So is alcohol.

Also, make sure your kratom is from an authentic vendor. Search “kratom near me.”

Moderate dehydration signs

  • Cramping in the muscles.
  • Nausea.
  • Dizziness.
  • Constipation.
  • Irritation and itchiness on the skin. Dryness and burn-like patches on the skin.

You still need not worry, but at this stage, you must go kratom-free completely for a day or two or until the symptoms go away. Meanwhile, take plenty of fluids, which also include fruit juices, coconut water, and milk, along with plain water.

If the symptoms do not go despite the remedies, please consult a doctor.

Severe dehydration symptoms

  • Decrease in sweating.
  • Increase in heart rate.
  • Decrease in blood pressure.
  • Fever.
  • Sunken eyes.

Stop using kratom immediately and consult a doctor.
